Richard Mucci, age 82, of Lakewood, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Beloved father of Michelle Heintz, Andrea (Brian) Gault, Renee (Dave) Manning, and Gina Mucci. Cherished grandfather to Nick, Michael, Trisha, Allyssa, Kyle, Blake, Bobby, Tony, and Nicole; and adoring great-grandfather to Miles, Max, Jack, and Benny- who brought him immense joy in his later years.
He was loved during his lifetime and preceded in death by his late wife, Mary Ann Mucci (Flaherty).
Son of the late Anthony and Michelina (Iosue) Mucci, Richard was preceded in death by his brother Robert (Margaret Ann) Mucci. He is survived by his siblings Ronald, Roger, Rosemarie, Ruth (Wallace) Cirjak, and Tony, and was uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Richard was a lifelong entrepreneur and talented stylist who owned and operated hair salons throughout the Cleveland area. Known for his artistry, charm, and style, he built lasting connections with clients and was admired for his creative spirit and business sense. In his heyday, he was a familiar face in Cleveland’s beauty community- a testament to his drive, vision, and creative spirit.
He loved to travel, to gather with friends, and to enjoy a good martini while dressed to the nines. Richard lived life on his own terms; he was always chasing laughter, new experiences, and great company.
He is also fondly remembered by his longtime companion, Ted Homtiz, and many dear friends who filled his later years with warmth and care.
In honoring his wishes, Richard will be cremated and a family memorial service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 11:00 am at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240 with Father Paul Rosen officiating.
Richard will be laid to rest at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio. His family takes comfort in knowing he is reunited with his late wife, Mary Ann Mucci, whom he deeply loved.
