Richard Nolet Obituary

Richard Albert Nolet, 68, of Manchester, NH and formerly Pittsburg, NH, passed away at Elliot Hospital on June 24, 2025. Born in Manchester on December 26, 1956, he was a son of Robert Nolet and Estelle (Prenoveau) McGarry.

Rick grew up in Manchester and attended Manchester Memorial High School, New Hampton Prep School, and Saint Anselm College. In his younger years, he played hockey and football at both Memorial and New Hampton, and was also a player for the Manchester Blackhawks hockey team. Rick worked for many years as a sheet metal fabricator at Empire Sheet Metal in Manchester and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 17-NH. After an injury led to early retirement, Rick moved to Pittsburg, NH, where he fully embraced his love of the outdoors. He spent much of his time hunting, fishing, and exploring the wilderness. He also enjoyed being part of the Pointers Fish and Game Club in Bedford, where he connected with fellow sportsmen and shared his passion for the outdoors.

Rick is survived by his children, Jennifer Felch and her husband Chris of Manchester and Joseph Nolet and his wife Bobby of Pittsburg; his parents, Robert Nolet of Manchester and Estelle McGarry of Manchester; his sister, Cindy Coutu and her husband Norman of Bedford; his step-sister, Shane Atkins and her husband Chris of Manchester; his grandchildren, Aiden, Lily and Allyson Nolet; a great-grandson, Carlos; a niece, Emily Williams; four nephews, Samuel, Jacob, Andrew and Mathew Coutu; as well as other extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved dog, Gunner.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st from 3:30PM - 6:30PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd at 10AM at Ste. Marie Parish, 378 Notre Dame Avenue, Manchester, NH. Private burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford, ME at a later date.

Rick and I were classmates and played football together at New Hampton Prep. He was a talented athlete and a great friend to have. I too regret not knowing Rick in later years. Rick was a positive person that always seemed to have a smile on his face. Rest in peace and God bless.

Rick and I were teammates in many sports from a young age and all thru high school. He was responsible for me going to New Hampton Prep in 1976. We were roommates that year of which I have only the fondest of memories. It was one of the best experiences and years of my life. He was a great friend, a great teammate and a wonderful kind hearted person. I regret not staying in touch with him over the last many years as he always held a special place in my heart. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a very special person. RIP my friend and teammate. God Bless. Doug Nute.
