Richard Alfred Obermueller, age 96, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ.
He was born on July 2, 1928 in Baden, Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1947. He resided in Clinton Twp., NJ since 1999.
He was the son of the late Fred and Melany Frey Obermueller.
His beloved wife, Rose Kohl Obermueller, passed away in 2002.
Richard was a Maintenance and Ironworker for Hoffman-La Roche in Nutley, NJ until his retirement in 1989.
Richard was a Past Master of the Free & Accepted Mason with Hermann Lodge #268 in New York, NY, where he was very active.
He loved traveling, especially to Europe and out West.
Survivors include one son; Frederick J. Obermueller and his wife Linda of Union Twp., NJ. Two granddaughters; Caroline Grish and Jennifer Strunk. Three great-grandchildren; Brodie, Stephen, Carly and Kaleb. He is also survived by one niece; Jenny Tschaar and a great-niece Trina Sonnett.
Calling hours will take place on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with masonic services at 8pm. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 16, 2024 at 11am. All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, 224 Westminster Place, Saddle Brook, NJ.
