Richard Donald "Rich" Peak, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in his hometown.

Born on October 16, 1934, in Louisville to Christopher and Verda Peak, Rich remained deeply rooted in the city he loved throughout his life. He graduated from Ahren's Trade High School and went on to dedicate 38 years of service as a photo engraver at Southern Gravure Service Inc., where he was known for his precision and commitment to his craft.

Rich was a devoted Catholic Christian and an active member of the Holy Family community, where he sang joyfully in the choir. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life, shaping the way he treated others with kindness, humility, and compassion.

He shared a loving marriage with his late wife, Shirley Anne Miles Peak. Together they built a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of freshly baked desserts-one of Rich's many passions. He found joy in traveling near and far, always eager to explore new places or revisit favorite destinations with family by his side.

Rich was a proud father to Mike Peak (Kay), Mark Peak (Robert), and Marie Sullivan (Les). His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Nick Peak, Jenny Peak, Jonah Ryan, Paige Ryan, and Jarren Sullivan. He delighted in their accomplishments and treasured every moment spent with them.

A man of many interests, Rich had an enduring love for black-and-white classic films and never missed an opportunity to indulge in any kind of dessert. His mornings began with the newspaper-a daily ritual that kept him connected to the world around him-and his heart belonged to the Louisville Cardinals. A loyal fan through and through, he held season tickets for both football and women's basketball games.

Rich's warmth extended beyond family; he never met a stranger. With a quick wit and gentle humor that could brighten anyone's day, he brought comfort and joy wherever he went. He generously supported numerous local charities throughout his life, always seeking ways to give back to the community that meant so much to him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley; his brothers Bill Peak, Joe Peak, and Ed Peak; and his parents Christopher and Verda Peak.

Richard Donald "Rich" Peak will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, faithful friend, and kind soul whose presence made the world a better place. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

Visitation for Rich will be from 4-7PM on Wednesday, August 27 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. Funeral Mass will be at 10AM on Thursday, August 28 at Hoy Family Catholic Church, 3938 Poplar Level Road, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In place of flowers, please donate in Rich's memory to Holy Family Catholic Church: 3938 Poplar Level Rd, Louisville, KY 40213, or St. Aloysius Catholic Church: 212 Mt Mercy Dr, Pewee Valley, KY 40056.
