Survivors include, stepson, Ted (Roxanne) Youngton, of Cedar Rapids, two grandchildren, Tory DeVine and Joseph Youngton. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann, stepson, Blaine Munson, and his parents.
Richard was born May 27, 1925 to parents William and Amanda Peick in Elkport, Iowa. Richard served in the United States Navy for 24 years, and included time during World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam. At retirement from the Navy, he was a Gunner's Mate Master Chief, E9. Richard was a lifelong proud member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He was a member of the local VFW and American Legion. After his service, Richard was a Teamsters member.
Memorials may be directed to a local American Legion post in Richard's name.
