Richard Allen Perry, age 62, passed away on May 20th, 2025 at his home. He was the loving husband to Amelia Perry who they shared 37 years of marriage and a father to four daughters: Michelle Moreno, Elizabeth Perry, Kathleen Perry, and Nicole Perry.
Rick was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to the honorable Franklyn Perry and Rose Perry. He grew up in various countries throughout Europe; from there he decided to join the U.S. Navy following his family's legacy where he started his own travels as a Damage Controlmen. While stationed in the Philippines, he met and fell in love with his best friend, Amy. After leaving the military, he moved to Japan to raise their family. He became a Certified Safety Professional and completed multiple Master's degrees, the last being a Master of Science in Safety, Security, & Emergency Management. In October 2022, Rick retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a Health & Occupation Safety Manager.
Rick could be found riding his bike, cooking too much food, or relaxing to music and a glass of wine. He enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife Amy and kids. He will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, goofy dance moves, and peace signs in photos. He is loved by many.
Rick will be dearly missed by his surviving spouse, Amy, daughters, Michelle, Elizabeth, Kathleen, and Nicole, and grandchildren, Azalea and Giovanni Moreno, as well as all the family and friends in Japan, Philippines, Europe, and around the world.
A Visitation will be held at 10:00 am with a Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 at San Sebastian Catholic Church. Burial is at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 29th, 2025 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
