In Loving Memory of Richard W. Phillips

Richard W. Phillips, born in Quanah, TX in 1932, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, at the age of 93. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Richard's legacy is one of commitment, kindness, and steadfast love.

Richard's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He and his beloved wife of 72 years, Lovell Phillips, are devoted members of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Johns Creek, GA. His quiet reverence and spiritual strength touched all who knew him.

Richard was High School Class President and a graduate of University of North Texas and South Texas College of Law. He built a distinguished career as an attorney at Texas Bank and at Cullen Frost Bank, where he directed the Trust Department. He was known not only for his legal acumen but also for his genuine care for those he served. Outside of work, Richard enjoyed cabinetry, birding, and serving the outreach concerns of his church and community.

He is survived by Lovell; his children Brad (Lili), Carol (David), and John (Leah); grandchildren Amanda (Shawn), Alex (Taylor), and Blake; and great-grandchildren Emma, Arrow, Charley, and Dottie. Whether offering sage advice or sharing a quiet moment, Richard's presence was a gift to all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held September 18th at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 10:30. The family invites those who knew Richard to honor his memory by living with the same grace, generosity, and faith he exemplified.
