Richard "Dick" Pitre, 90, born August 22, 1934, in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on February 26, 2025, in Leander, Texas.
Dick led a life marked by dedication, skill, and generosity. After serving with the U.S. Army, in Korea, he received an honorable discharge, in 1961. He graduated top of his class while earning his Certified Dental Technician Degree. His expertise and passion for the craft led him to own Pitre Dental Ceramics for over 40 years, over half of those alongside his longtime friend Ralf Werkmann. Through this work, Dick not only honed his technical skills but also became a mentor to many in the field.
Beyond his professional life, Dick had a deep love for his church, hunting, motorcycles and a good pool game. A faithful attendee at Rockpointe Church it was not uncommon to see him mowing the church grounds on a Saturday in preparation for Sunday service. He saw this as a way to serve his community, as well as, personal time to spend time talking to the Lord. Dick was an active member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Riding was more than just a hobby-it was a way of life that brought him joy, camaraderie and many memories with those he traveled with, spreading the word of God, throughout the US. He was also an enthusiastic pool player and a proud member of the American Poolplayers Association (APA), enjoying all aspects of the game. Those that knew him well would say his defense was a step above the rest and made him a very competitive opponent on the table.
Known for his willingness to help others, Dick was a natural teacher and mentor who always made time for those in need of guidance or support. His kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
May his memories forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, son, three daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
