Richard "Dickie" Pollone

Ennis, TX / Southbridge: Richard F. 'Dickie' Pollone, 84, recently of Ennis, TX, and formerly of Southbridge, passed away on Monday, January 5th, in the Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX.

He leaves his three sons, Richard G. Pollone and his wife Tracy of Woodstock, CT, Anthony Pollone and his wife Heidi of Midlothian, TX and Michael Pollone of Ennis, TX; his three brothers, Ralph Pollone of North Carolina, Raymond Pollone of Flower Mound, TX and Ronald Pollone of North Andover; his sister, Romona Pollone of Southbridge; his six grandchildren, Zachary Pollone, Brandon Beausoliel, Nathan Pollone, Troy Pollone, Laci Pollone and Nicholas Pollone; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Pollone and his sister, Roberta Battista. He was born in Pittsfield the son of Dominic and Pacina (Trifone) Pollone. Richard was a US Airforce Veteran of the Vietnam War era.

Richard was a longtime mechanic and later a restaurant owner/operator. Richard owned a Citco Gas and repair Station in Southbridge. He went on to become a mechanic for American Airlines in Dallas, TX for 10 years. After American Airlines he owned and operated the Pizza Cucina Restaurant in Lewisville, TX. After returning to Southbridge he ran the Wind Sock Diner at the Southbridge Airport for several years, retiring many years ago. In retirement he worked as a mechanic for his son's business A. Pollone Trucking for several years.

Richard enjoyed going to the casinos. He loved family pizza night and he liked to work on the hot rods with his boys and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Calling hours for Richard will be held on Thursday, March 26th, from 5:00 to 7:00pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge. A graveside service in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge, will be private.
