Richard Previc

Richard Previc, age 75, of Salem Township, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025. Rich, known as "Tree" to his many friends, was born on October 8, 1949 in Latrobe, to Stanley "Cutsy" and Josephine "Sophie" (Resnick) Previc, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Judy (Behun) Previc; three brothers and a sister, Michael (wife Joanne), Thomas (wife Tammy), and Robert (wife Barbara) Previc, and JoAnn (husband Donald) Machak; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was more than an uncle to his nieces and nephews, he was like a second father to them.
Rich was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a 56-year member of the Slickville American Legion, where he was an officer and served on the board of directors. He was a longtime parishioner of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Slickville and a retiree of Elliott Co., having been employed for 36 years. Rich loved the outdoors and spending time at camp in Cherry Grove hunting and fishing. He had many other interests such as cooking and making pirohy at his church, helping anyone in need, and playing the slots.
Friends will be received Thursday, June 19 from 1-4 & 6-8 PM at Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381), where the Slickville American Legion will have a service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 20 at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with Very Rev. Father Robert Popichak, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Eastview Union Cemetery, Delmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, PO Box 3, Slickville or to the Slickville American Legion Post 18, PO Box 166, Slickville, PA 15684.
