Richard Albert Pring was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, on March 11, 1953, to Albert and Maxine Pring.  Rick was one quarter Lakota Sioux and very proud of his heritage and his First Nations name: Two Black Wolves. Growing up in Regina, this prairie boy spent long months with native relatives who taught him the joys and secrets of outdoor living.  Later, Rick attended Thom  Collegiate high school. Upon graduation, Rick joined his father in the family construction business. He later served 12 years in the Canadian Airborne Regiment where he jumped 73 times and visited much of Europe. His career as a mechanical salesman and parts specialist took him from Regina to Montreal and then eventually Leduc, Alberta.  Later, having met and married an American girl, Rick relocated to Freehold, New Jersey. Two years ago he moved to Sunburst, happy to be on a beautiful prairie once again. Rick was a sniper grade marksman and a firearms expert. His other interests included military history and eclectic music, and he was an avid Harley biker who went on many long excursions throughout western United States as well as the annual rally in Sturgis. Rick also had a great affection for animals, was beloved by dogs, and was also involved in cat rescue.  He was predeceased by two infant brothers; his parents; and his son, Scott, who passed in 2018. An intelligent, funny, and God-fearing man, Rick passed suddenly on November 11, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Roberts; his son, Sean Pring; his daughter-in-law, Kelli Pring; and two beloved granddaughters, Paisley and Peighton.  Memorial service details to be announced.
