Richard Dean Ratvasky, at 79, of Edinburg, PA, passed away the evening of Sept. 30, 2025, at his residence.

Born June 10, 1946, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late John and Alice E. (Braho) Ratvasky.

On Sept. 4, 1965, he married his wife of 60 years, the former, Viola Minteer. Mrs. Ratvasky survives at home.

Richard was a 1964 graduate of New Wilmington High School. Being artistic and a forward thinker, Richard started Ratvasky Landscaping, in 1978. He was extremely proud that the family business has grown into its second and third generation of being family owned and operated. Richard loved to hunt, fish, and was a great mentor to many. He was of the Lutheran faith.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Richard Dean (Pamela) Ratvasky II, of Columbus, OH, David (Heather) Ratvasky of Edinburg, PA, and Brian J. Ratvasky of Tampa, FL; two grandchildren, Brandon, and Rowan; two great-grandchildren, Luke, and Jake; and his beloved puppy "Ginger".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Harry, Edward and William Ratvasky.

Visitation will be held on Friday Oct. 3rd from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 6:00 PM, with Rev. Jordan Rimmer of Northminster church, officiating.
