In flesh we mourn, in God's spirit we celebrate the life of Richard Gordon Rayburn, 83 years old, beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Great-Great Grandfather, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on February 19, 1940, born to Helen and John Rayburn, in Leesville, LA. As a young man Richard moved from Anacoco, LA to Baton Rouge, LA to find work. There he learned his life-long trade as an Auto Mechanic. He met and married the love of his life, Marie Thornton Rayburn, who precedes Richard in death after 54 blessed years and eight children.
Richard and Marie's unconquerable love beget three daughters and five sons, Vickie Mitchell and husband, David Mitchell, Linda Calvit and husband, Bo Calvit, Brenda Lolley, Richard Rayburn Jr. and wife, Candy Rayburn, Johnny Rayburn and wife, Liz Rayburn, Thomas Rayburn and wife, Darlene Rayburn and Mark Rayburn; 21 Grandchildren; 34 Great Grandchildren with one expecting; 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; brother, Johnny Rayburn; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Richard is preceded in death by his beloved wife Marie Rayburn; his loving son, Michael Rayburn; his parents, Helen and John Rayburn; and son in law, Kevin Lolley

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
