Richard "Rich" Edward Reitz Richard "Rich" Edward Reitz, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Leesburg, Florida, on August 17, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Rich built his life on hard work, family, and faith. He moved to the Leesburg area in 2003 after many years in Etowah, North Carolina. A man with a remarkable work ethic, Rich spent much of his career as an over-the-road long-distance truck driver, proudly dedicating decades to the profession. After retiring to Florida, he embraced a second career in the funeral industry, serving as a Senior Staff Associate at Page-Theus Funeral Home for over 17 years, where his compassion and steady presence brought comfort to countless families. Rich and his beloved wife, Alice, shared 69 wonderful years together, including 63 as husband and wife. During that time, they traveled the world on more than 35 cruises, delighting in exploring faraway countries and new cultures. Yet, Rich's greatest joy was always found in his family. He treasured the many adventures taken with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will live on for generations. Rich was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Reitz; his sister, Beverly Patricia Bresinger; and his son, Richard "Rick" Reitz. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice; his son Gregory Reitz of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; daughters Tina (Robert) Mazzeo of Haines City, FL; Susan (Rob) Parille of Zirconia, NC; and Cherie (Bryan) Hensley of Hendersonville, NC; his brother, Ron Reitz (Dorothy) of Streamwood, IL; 13 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love, strength, and kindness. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Page-Theus Funeral Home in Leesburg, Florida, with Reverend Gary Blanchard officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cornerstone Hospice, whose compassionate care supported Rich and his loved ones during his final days.
