Richard T. "Rick" Reusch, Jr., age 50, of New Castle, DE, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

Born in Wilmington, DE on June 27, 1971, he was a son of Sharon (MacCord) and Richard T. Reusch, Sr. Rick loved the Special Olympics and participated in every event since he was 8 years old. He competed in 3 world game events, partaking in skating, swimming, downhill skiing, and many more events. Rick's family and friends lovingly teased him that he needed another room for all of his medals.

He enjoyed listening to country music and lived for the Country Music Awards. Rick loved going on cruises and enjoyed all things Disney. He would have married Minnie Mouse if he was able to. An avid sports fan, Rick was known for mixing his sports teams, he supported the New England Patriots while donning a sweatshirt or other clothing that had Miami Dolphins on it. At any given time, he could be seen wearing articles of clothing from both teams at once. Rick had a smile that would draw you in. Unless he knew you, Rick was usually quiet but he will be fondly remembered for his laugh that was both melodious and genuine.

He was preceded in death by his Godparents, Sandra Stewart and Philip MacCord. In addition to his parents, Rick will be dearly missed by his sister, Cheryl Lynn Dunbar (Robert); brother, Robert Reusch (January); nephews, Robert Reusch, Jr. and Joshua Edgerton (Susan); Godparents, John Stewart and Geraldine Martin; foster sister, Elizabeth Chalifoux; foster niece, Sharon Samantha Chalifoux; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11am until 1 pm, on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rick's memory may be made to Special Olympics Delaware c/o Wilmington Wizards, 619 South College Avenue, Newark, DE 19716.
