Rich was offered an opportunity he couldn’t pass up!
Richard “Rich” Charles Noyd, age 82, of Kasota passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the St. Peter Funeral Home, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Private family burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Peter.
Rich was born in September of 1942 to Jenny and Curtis Noyd. Rich and Judy were married in September of 1966 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was then transferred to Panzer Kaserne Military Post near Stuttgart, Germany where he served 2 years. Judy joined him there and their son, Michael was born while in Germany.
Rich worked for North Star Concrete, Komatz Construction and SMC Construction/MPM. He served as both Chief and Captain in the St. Peter Police reserves during his 32 years in the unit.
Rich loved life immensely; he was well known for his witty remarks and zany sense of humor. He seemed to know everyone and spent much time with family, neighbors, and friends visiting and sharing stories – contributing to the glue that holds communities together.
He enjoyed helping Mike and Rene repair and repaint their vehicles. Rich enjoyed old time, classic country and the music from the 50s and 60s. He always had music playing while puttering in the garage. Rich had a lifetime interest in planes and flying.
Rich was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW, and Trinity Lutheran Church.
Missing Rich is his wife, Judy; son, Michael (Sandee); grandchildren, Amanda Nylander, Heather (Rob) Johnson, Danielle (Josh) Smith; great-grandchildren, Mathew, Sunny, Madalyn and Emma; bonus grandchildren, Kya, Jax and Jase Johnson; sisters, Lorraine McAlister, Linda Kelm; brothers, Harold, Marv (Diane); in laws, Melanie, Daloris Martini, Lucia Eichten, Marvel (Steven) Roberts, Kathy Netzke, Barb Netzke, Cedric (Carmel) Netzke, Paul Netzke, Chuck (Jan) Netzke, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gone on before Rich are his parents; daughter, Rene; brothers, Wally, and Robert; 6 brothers-in-law, and 1 sister-in-law.
