Darlene Wilmes, age 89, of North Mankato, MN, passed away on October 14, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.
Darlene was born on May 20, 1936 in Mankato, MN to Henry and Margaret (DeVlaeminck) Linde. On May 21, 1955, Darlene married David Wilmes. Together, they shared a life full of love and memories. Together, they farmed near St. Clair and raised eight children. Darlene worked as a housekeeping supervisor at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital for over 20 years. Darlene enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. In her younger years, Darlene and David enjoyed camping.
Darlene is survived by her children, Debra DePyper, Deidre Wilmes, Darla Regalado, Denise Wilmes, Dawn (Jeff) Dahline, and Darin Wilmes; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; sons, Douglas and Dale; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, David, Harold, and Herbie.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22 at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Vista Prairie at North Pointe.
