Richard Gordon “Rick” Ivon, of Newberry, finished his race and, by virtue of his personal faith in Jesus Christ, passed peacefully into the presence of God, on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Born on July 27, 1951, in Springville, New York, Rick was the son of the late Conrad and Doris Lux Ivon. Rick was a US Navy veteran and a member of First Baptist Church of Newberry.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Holcombe Ivon and sons, Kevin Ivon (Donna), Greg Ivon, James Gillis and Jared Gillis (Shanna). Rick is also survived by sisters, Bea Gassman and Mary Haley and grandchildren. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 25, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 1020 Boundary Street, Newberry, SC by the Rev. Dr. Albert Allen. Beverly will receive friends in the sanctuary immediately following the service.
