Richard "Rick" Joseph Schroader, 76, was born on September 1, 1948 in Louisville, KY and passed away on February 22, 2025 in Louisville.
He worked for RCA for 18 years and retired from General Electric. He was a long time member of the Cardinal Twirlers Square Dance Club. Rick was also a member of the Robinson-Plumb Masonic Lodge #266.
He is preceded in death by his parents William A. Schroader and Virginia Cooper Schroader.
Rick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Bowman Schroader; his three daughters, Stephanie Mackowiak (Gary), Tracy Jones (Jerry) and Amy Mason; 9 Grandchildren, Bethanie Kotelnicki (Lance), Jesse Jones (Jordan), Stephen Mackowiak, Austin Jones (Brooke), Daija "Daisy" Schroader, Dalen Jones (Taylor), Kinsey Jones, Desmond Mason (Jayde), Denzell Mason; 10 Great-Grandchildren, Ezekiel, Coast, Liam, Logan, Jack, Silas, Elliott, Hadlee, Xander, Jada; brother William E Schroader (Susie); aunt Carolyn Cooper; 2 nieces and 2 nephews, William R Schroader, Brigit Hammonds, Laurie Cross and Charles Adam Willhite; and many cousins and friends who were dear to him.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, both at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home, with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick's memory may be made to the PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).org/site/Donation2?df_id=6701&mfc_pref=T&6701.donation=form1">Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the WHAS Crusade for Children.
