Richard Leroy Roby, 60, of Gibsonton, FL deceased on January 8th, 2024. "Richie Rich," son of James H. Roby and Rogene F. Roby, passed away at the hospital in Brandon, FL.

Rich was born in North Platte, NE but was a longtime resident of Hastings, NE. He graduated from Hastings High School, class of 1983. From there, he went on to become a U.S. Marine-where he served his country for 11 years-including spending time in Japan and Southern California. During this time, he achieved the rank of sergeant and received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.

After the military, Rich worked as a journeyman electrician, throughout the United States, with roots in Alabama, but eventually settled in Florida.

Rich cherished his family and friends with a loving heart that was bonded with a close-knit relationship, and he will be greatly missed.

Rich's passions were western, country, and classic rock music; classic American muscle cars; and motorcycles. He also loved to sing karaoke and cheer for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Rich is survived by his two kids, Dallas and Shelby; two grandkids, Cameron and Kat; his dad, James Roby of Hastings, NE; his brother, Roger Roby, and his wife, Cindy Roby of Louisville, NE; his sister, Rose Berney of Sterling, NE; his baby brother, Bobby Roby of Medford, MA, and his sister-in-law, Tracy Krajewski of Valrico, FL; his three nephews: Dustin Roby and his wife, Ali Roby of Gretna, NE; Michael Roby of Grand Island, NE; and Kyle Roby of Valrico, FL; his three nieces: Elizabeth Roby of Bellevue, NE; MacKenzie Berney of Doniphan, NE; and Brooklyn Roby of Valrico, FL.

No services have been set. His final resting place will be Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, NE.
