Compean Funeral Home - HoustonRichard Rodriguez, 73, was born on February 28, 1952, in Houston, Texas, and entered eternal rest on September 10, 2025, in Houston, Texas.
Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a hardworking man whose life was centered around his love for family and faith in his Lord and Savior. Known for his big heart and dedication, Richard touched the lives of everyone who had the blessing of knowing him.
A passionate sports fan, he cheered faithfully for the Houston Astros, Texans, and Rockets. He also enjoyed watching classic films and spending time with his beloved grandchildren, who were truly his pride and joy. In the Magnolia neighborhood, Richard was well known as a longtime bartender at Tony’s Drive Inn, where he formed many lasting friendships. He also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino for relaxation and fun.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Jose A. Rodriguez and Alma Dicio; his brothers, Rudy, Fernando, and Joe R. Rodriguez; and his sister, Delores Hernandez.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 40 years, Rose Mary Gonzales; his sons, Rick Rodriguez and Joseph Munoz; his daughters, Jeanette Gomez and Marissa Munoz; his grandchildren, Hailey, Alezay, Madelyn, Rudy Trae, Adrian, Ariel, Joe, Ian, Avani, and Aubrey; his brother, Leo Rodriguez; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
Richard will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life and will be remembered for his unwavering love, warm spirit, and the beautiful memories he leaves behind.
