Richard Rojek, 65, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away suddenly on March 5, 2025, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Epic Event Center, located at 2987 Epic Drive in Marion, Iowa. He was born on November 10, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, and he dedicated his life to nurturing his family and fostering relationships that brought joy and support to those around him.
Richard's legacy lives on through his cherished wife, Amy (Kaiser) Rojek, their three children, Taylor (Kaitlyn), Holley (Joseph), and Joseph, his brother, Dominic, and his father, Leo. Together, they shared countless memories filled with laughter and love, woven through their everyday moments and special occasions. Richard was not just a devoted family man; he was the heart of their home, often cooking meals that became the backdrop for gatherings, where he delighted in feeding people—an expression of his love language that resonated deeply with those fortunate to sit at his table.
His career trajectory took an intriguing turn after spending three years attending St. Ambrose University. He seized a remarkable opportunity in Iowa to own and run a car dealership, where his charm and dedication attracted customers and friends alike. Whether it was negotiating deals or sharing a smile at his business, Rock Solid Tools—which he owned and operated alongside his son—he approached every day with enthusiasm and a unique flair that endeared him to friends and clients alike. His motto, "Here's the Deal," echoed his approach to life: straightforward, honest, and genuinely engaging.
Outside of his career, Richard pursued his passions with vigor. He found thrills at the racetrack as a sprint car racing enthusiast in Knoxville and relished the peaceful moments spent fishing. His adventurous spirit also led him to become a ski instructor at Sundown in Dubuque, teaching others the joy of gliding down snowy slopes. Richard's love for cars was another facet of his identity, as he cherished the excitement that came with buying and caring for them.
Throughout his life, Richard was known for his unwavering belief in second chances, always ready to lend a helping hand or an encouraging word to those who needed it. He was a gifted fixer—able not only to mend broken things but also to heal the hearts of those around him, fostering a network of relationships that spanned years. His kindness and generosity were gifts that he freely shared, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we remember Richard Rojek, let us celebrate a life that was rich in love, laughter, and unwavering support. He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his spirit forward and countless friends who will cherish the memories created with him. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of love and resilience will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
