Richard Salazar, 40, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023, in his home in Greeley. He was born on August 5, 1982, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Antonio & Olga (Marroquin) Salazar.
Richie will always be remembered for his never-ending smile and his awesome sarcastic sense of humor. Almost no one could make him laugh harder than he could! Richie was an incredibly warm and loving father to his daughters, supporting them in everything they did and putting them before anything and anyone else. He was able to fill the shoes of his late father for his mother, who he loved and respected tremendously. He was deeply caring & protective of his whole family.
Richie had many loves in his life, such as comic books and anime. You could almost always catch him in a superhero or Dragon Ball Z shirt. Richie was full of endless quotes, whether it was from a movie or from his favorite characters like Ghost Rider, One Punch Man, or Goku. He loved exploring the mountains with his kids and family, he loved listening to cryptid and alien stories, and he loved to learn about new things. He was truly a kid at heart with his love of Mtn Dew and candy, especially 5th Avenue bars.
Richie was incredibly kind and fair. He was never afraid of a fight but also not afraid to be silly. He was hilarious and understanding, as well as a pillar of strength for his family. Richie will be deeply missed.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Jade & Araceli Salazar; siblings, Amy Salazar, Amanda Salazar, Theresa Salazar, and Ted Rybus; his mother, Olga Salazar; his fur-baby, Juliet; and a large loving extended family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Antonio Salazar Jr.; brother, Antonio Salazar; and fur baby, Rainn.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 5:00pm, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2525 W. 16th Street, Greeley, CO 80634.
