Richard Steven Samarel, known affectionately as Rick to his friends and family, formerly of Cream Ridge, NJ passed away on March 28, 2025, in Greer, South Carolina, at the age of 54.
Rick was a beloved son to his mother Carol Fern, his father Marshall Samarel and his stepmother Paula Samarel. He was a fun-loving brother to Ken, Dan, Rob, Luke, and Megan, and was loved by all of his aunts, uncles and cousins.
He joyfully, along with his late wife Lina, while raising his children Sebastian, Savannah, and his late daughter Samantha Rose, lovingly shared with them his passion for soccer, chess and family outings.
Rick was well-respected and liked by his friends and fellow colleagues and his keen sense of humor was appreciated by everyone who knew him.
Rick's legacy is one of love, laughter and the countless memories he created with those he held dear, and he will be profoundly missed.
A service will be held in New Jersey at a later date.
