It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard Allen Schiebel, who left us on April 11, 2025, at the age of 85. His wife, Joyce, was by his side, holding his hand as she had been doing for the last 59 years. He was born on April 16, 1939, in Lawrence, MA and was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Richard was known for his dedication to his wife and family, was always quick with a joke and was the epitome of a kind, good man. He loved spending time with family and friends, loved watching the Red Sox and attending countless soccer and basketball games for his grandchildren. At 16, he started working for Saba's Pharmacy in Methuen (that was eventually acquired by Conlin's Pharmacy) and continued for the 55+ years. He loved his job, the people that he worked with and those that he interacted with on a daily basis delivering medical equipment and critical medications to people all over the north shore.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce, his two sons, Brian and Keith and his grandchildren, Kelsey (30), Amanda (30), Alison (23), Savannah (15) and great-granddaughter Sloan (1). He was the third oldest of 8 siblings: Donna Landry, Malcolm, Erving, Neil, Marilyn, Beverly and Henry (Junior). He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Chrystal and Henry, both from Lawrence, MA.
Richard will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew him. He was an extremely proud man, a great man. While we are all terribly upset with his passing, we know that he is in a much better place and did not deserve the pain and suffering that he had endured over the last several years. Rest in Peace. We all love you.
