IMPERIAL - Richard A. Schomaker passed away to his Heavenly home on June 5, 2022 at Ste. Genevieve Care Center at the age of 83. He was born in St. Louis to the late Arthur Clarence Schomaker and Mary Frances (Colonna) Schomaker on May 13, 1939. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie (Haywood) Schomaker; a brother, Art Schomaker and his sister-in-law, Sharon Schomaker.
A 1957 graduate of Lindberg High School in South County, he went on to attend Washington University. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserves for ten years. He went to work at an early age for Anheuser Busch Company in the accounting office. Later he went from working in the office to learning the art of beer brewing. He was a journeyman brewer with Anheuser Busch for 40 years until his retirement. Richard loved to travel, fish, bowl, play blackjack and swim and spend time with his family. An Avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan and Professional Bull Riding fan (PBR), he often attended games and events with his family. He was a Shriner and a 32nd degree Mason.
Survivors include his two daughters, Pamela (Mrs. Joe) Galeski of Ste. Genevieve and Kimberly Schomaker of Arnold; three grandchildren, Sarah Spain, Rachel Galeski and Samuel Miller; two great grandchildren, Janet Spain and Mackenzie Spain; and very special friends, Doris Gaume and Nathan Spain.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, 10180 Gravois Road, Affton, MO on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. Share your condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
