Ella Marie Govreau, 87, of Farmington, Missouri, entered eternal rest on March 8, 2026, at her home.
She was born April 29, 1938, in Ironton to Gilbert and Anna Marie (Silvey) Hartwick.
Ella is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Melvin “Joe” Govreau; her daughters, Vickie Sue Baumgartner of Farmington and Darlene (Larry) Furry of Farmington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Nellie Carrow of Piedmont; her sister-in-law, Margie Ewing of Chesterfield; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, JoAnn Govreau and Melvin Govreau Jr.; her grandson, Jason Furry; her great-grandson, Dusty Howlett; her siblings, Edward “Bud” Hartwick, Gilbert “Nooner” Hartwick Jr., Elsie Louise Barnes, Helen Irene Hartwick, and Ruthie (the late Floyd) Bucholtz; and her brother-in-law, Carl Carrow.
Ella worked for many years as a nurse for several area nursing homes. She was a former member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, canning, fishing, sewing, crocheting, and taking trips to Florida with family. Ella was known as the “queen of thrift shopping” and loved yard sales and flea markets.
She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery Upkeep Fund.
