Born in Bergenfield, NJ to the late Robert and Christina Scudder Richard was a printer and had worked for the Los Angeles Racing Forum, Los Angeles in California and had worked for the Evening Star Ledger, in Newark, New Jersey.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany.
He was predeceased by his wives Nannette Engsberg and Anita Godkin.
Surviving are his daughter Christina Gowen and her husband Gregory, Step daughter Paula Eldred and her husband Bill, Step sons Bruce Godkin, Brian Godkin and his wife Dorthe his grandchildren Blair, Brandon, Ethan and Spencer, his 10 step grandchildren. Also surviving are his great grandchildren Bianca and Gionna and his 9 step great grandchildren..
Silverton Memorial Funeral Home 2482 Church Rd., Toms River is in charge of the arrangements.
