Richard Setlak Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home - Standish Chapel on Aug. 31, 2024.
Richard Stanley "Tricky" Setlak, aged 83, of Standish, MI, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024. Born on September 13, 1940, to the late Stanley and Bernice (Nowak) Setlak.
A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, Tricky's legacy lives on through his children, Richard (Tina) Setlak Jr., Wayne (Stacy) Setlak, and Carrie (Norm) Mielke; his cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Nikki, Dustin, Kara, Lexi, and Jordan; and his adored great-grandchildren, Ava, Kristopher, and Clara. He also leaves behind dear siblings, Yvonne Klimek, Diane Bourke, and Debbie Kalosis. Tricky was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janie, and sister, Beverly.
He was an admirable cook and an avid hunter, Tricky also enjoyed farming, gardening, and canning which he enjoyed sharing with his friends and family. Those who knew Tricky could always count on his generosity and a well-timed joke that inevitably brought a smile to their faces. He will also be remembered as a member of the Resurrection of The Lord Catholic Church, and as a man whose heart was as expansive as his laughter.
Richard "Tricky" Setlak's memory will be a warm and nurturing presence, eternally carried in the stories and affectionate recollections of those who had the pleasure of his company. He leaves behind a world far richer than when he entered it, for his was a life genuinely well-lived.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 11am at Resurrection of The Lord Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ron Wagner presiding with burial at St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may visit Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 3-8:00pm. On Wednesday, friends may visit at the church from 10am until time of mass.
