Lynne Anne Setlak (née Brockert), 71, peacefully went home to Jesus on December 2, 2023, in Sterling Heights, Michigan
Lynne was born to Homer & Irene (née Schiavon) Brockert on August 7, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan.
Survived by husband Gary; son Aaron (Kristen) and daughter Nikki; grandchildren Ella, Eli and Emmie; best friends Garry and Linda; sister-in-law Sheryl (Ray); and nieces and nephews Marlys (Chris), Kari (Mike), Scott (Shawn), Jennifer (Jimmy), Kelli (Ryan), Carrie (Ron), Jenny, and Garry (Bridget).
Predeceased by parents and brother Roy (the late Kay).
Lynne entered this world on August 7, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan, fourteen years after her beloved brother Roy. In 1967, Lynne, with her parents, moved to Pinto Drive in Warren where she would meet her neighbor Gary whom she would later marry in 1972 and share the next 51 years of her life with. Lynne attended Catholic school as a young child and later graduated from Cousino High School in Warren. She and Gary wed on June 3, 1972 and later started their family with son Aaron in 1976 and then daughter Nikki in 1979. Lynne devoted her time to raising her children when they were young. Before starting a family and again after her children were older, she worked as a teller at Standard Federal Bank in Warren. While raising her two children, she worked part time at Minnesota Fabrics, using her gift of sewing and helping others. Lynne was a very talented and generous seamstress that made her kids clothing and Halloween costumes. She also beautifully crafted infant baptismal outfits and even sewed her own wedding dress. Lynne was active in the children's schooling through volunteering with the PTO and attending their sporting events. When Lynne´s children were older, she enjoyed walking and being part of her local Red Hat Society and Quilt Guild. Lynne spent the last few years of her life living at Arden Courts Memory Care facility where she continued to bring laughter and joy to the workers who cared for her.
Visitation Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 12 pm- 3 pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 3 pm at Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (West of Hoover) Warren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
