Richard Lee Sherman, 80 of Arnold, MO, formally of Fort Wayne, IN, born July 4, 1945 in Columbus, GA, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Jefferson Barracks Veterans Hospital.

Richard was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt CVA-42. He was an electrical engineer for IBEW #305 and loved to play pool, the guitar and draw.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rose Mary Sherman.

Surviving are his children, Justin Sherman of Wolcottville, IN, Jane (Brian) Raines of Arnold, MO and Jesse (Makenna) Sherman of Redmond, OR; brother, Anthony Sherman; sister, Wanda Mathias both of Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren, Mason Sherman, Ashlynn Sherman, Hudson Raines and Charlie Raines. He was a loving father, hero, brother, cousin and friend.

Family and friends will meet at 11:30 AM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry Road Columbia, IL 62236 for a funeral procession to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Graveside service will be at 12:30 PM.
