Richard Simballa Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Graniteville from Dec. 2 to Dec. 9, 2025.
Mr. Richard John Simballa, 67, beloved husband of Mrs. Susan Graham Simballa, entered into rest on Saturday, November 29, 2025, with Susan and his stepson and his wife, Charles and Shelly Bowers, by his side in the comfort of his home.
Left to cherish Richard's memory are his wife, Susan, of Bath, South Carolina; brother, David Simballa, of Lisbon, Ohio; aunt and uncle, Joseph and June Simballa, of East Liverpool, Ohio; and his stepson and daughter-in-law, Charles and Shelly Bowers, of Lisbon, Ohio.
Richard was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, to the late Robert John and Jessie Mae Limeberry Simballa. He graduated from Southern Local High School in 1977 and was raised on a farm in Lisbon, Ohio. He loved gardening, fishing, and traveling. He was devoted to his Lord and to prayer.
Richard worked for a convent in Ohio for 10 years, taking care of the statues and grounds. It was at the convent where he met Susan and where they married on November 13, 1990. They had thirty-five wonderful years together. Susan said he was a devoted husband and best friend. She was his caregiver and wife. They worked and traveled life's long road together, and she loved him more every day – he was the best.
He lived in South Carolina for the last twenty years and was a truck driver. His neighbors all looked forward to seeing him on the porch, waving to them as they went by.
The family would like to thank Crescent Hospice for their care of Richard.
