Major Richard Matthew Singer, USAF (Retired) January 10, 1937 – December 11, 2025 Major Richard "Dick" Matthew Singer, United States Air Force (Retired), age 88, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Born on January 10, 1937, in Wausau, Wisconsin, Richard lived a life defined by faith, service, and devotion to family and country. He was a dedicated servant of God and the Holy Catholic Church, guided throughout his life by deep spiritual conviction and quiet strength. Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force for 22 years, retiring at the rank of Major. Following his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and continued his professional career with General Motors as a Certified Public Accountant, again retiring after 20 years of service. In every role he held, Richard exemplified integrity, discipline, and a strong work ethic. Deeply committed to his faith and community, Richard was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus with whom he served in many roles including that of Grand Knight from June 2015 to June 2016 consistently carrying out his duties with humility and dedication in service to the Church. Richard was twice widowed. He was first married to Laura Singer, the beloved mother of his children, and later to Peggy Singer, both of whom preceded him in death. In his later years, he was blessed to share a loving and devoted marriage with his wife, Carol, with whom he enjoyed a partnership rooted in faith, respect, and affection. He was a loving and generous father to Kimberley (Singer) Sare; Major USA Ret. Michael Singer, PA-C, USA (Retired); David Singer, MD; and Stacy Singer. Richard took great pride in his family and supported them with unwavering love, wisdom, and encouragement. Major Singer will be remembered for his integrity, kindness, steadfast presence, and enduring faith. His life leaves a lasting legacy of service to God, country, family, and community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Richard will be interred at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Midwest City, Oklahoma, immediately following the ceremony. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
