COOLVILLE—Richard Smith, 80, of Coolville, OH, passed away Monday, Nov 17, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Belpre Campus.
He was born June 15, 1945, in Gay, WV, son of the late Ralph and Glada Riddle Smith. Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the Coolville Masonic Lodge 337 F&AM, a retired concrete finisher and retired from the Laborers Local Union 639 in Marietta.
Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Rood Smith; son, Tim and Jill Smith; 2 daughters, Teresa and Tim Holsinger and Tanya Smith; 6 grandchildren, Amanda Jones, Natasha and Jarrod Heiss, Zach Holsinger, Miranda Smith, Mary and Josh Grinnell and Austin Lambert; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted and Bev Smith and his special friends in North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Pastor Rick Bourne officiating. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery, where military services will be conducted.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 6-8 P.M. at White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH.
