Richard Paul Specter was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on August 3, 1946, to Norman R. Specter and Frances B. (Waitowicz) Specter, both now deceased. He had one brother, Dennis N. Specter, of Wayland, Massachusetts, who passed away in 2016.
Richard lived in Massachusetts most of his life until 2004 when he moved away with his wife Linda C. (Cote) Specter, eventually settling in
Wake Forest, North Carolina. Richard and Linda were married for 54 blessed years. They have two loving sons and two lovely daughters-in-law. Daniel R. Specter resides with his wife, Alynka Mendoza Vidal, in Greenville, North Carolina. Matthew P. Specter resides with his wife, Diana Fuentes Calderon, in Youngsville, North Carolina. Two grandchildren, Zachary and Alexis Specter, live in Massachusetts but were never forgotten by their "Papa". Richard was a devoted husband and father who always took very good care of his family. They are absolutely heartbroken at his passing and will greatly miss him.
Richard is survived by his 97 year old mother-in-law, Rose M. (Lazaro) Cote, three sisters-in-law, Madeline (Cote) Silvestris, Elaine (Cote) LaCrosse, Janie (Molnar) Specter, several nieces and nephews, all Massachusetts residents.
Richard served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era from November, 1965 to April, 1969. After coming home, he graduated from the Bryant and Stratton School of Business in Boston, Massachusetts. He began his post office career at the Boston South Postal Annex and retired from the post office in Worcester, Massachusetts with combined service of 38 years, Richard worked hard, never missed an opportunity for extra hours, through every type of weather and all the holiday challenges. He was a humble, quick witted and level-headed man. Interested in current events and politics, he was always ready to discuss the issues of the day.
Richard enjoyed playing baseball, fishing and travelling in his younger years, and shopping for special deals every day throughout his life. He made friends wherever he went.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of Saint Catherine of Siena in
Wake Forest, NC. Richard will be laid to rest in the memorial garden of Saint Catherine's following Mass.
