Ronald Hugh Wall, Jr., affectionately known as "Ron" or "Shorty" to his friends and family, passed away surrounded by family on December 9, 2025, in
Zebulon, North Carolina. Born on January 2, 1961, in
Raleigh, North Carolina, Ron's life was a testament to his loving nature, faith-filled spirit, and friendly demeanor.
Ron was a proud graduate of Wake Technical Community College, where he honed his skills in auto mechanics. His expertise and passion for cars led him to a fulfilling career for over 30 years with Leith Jaguar. Ron's work was not just a job; it was a reflection of his dedication to excellence and his love for the craft.
Beyond his professional life, Ron was a man of many interests. He cherished socializing with friends and was always a wonderful conversationalist. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family. Ron was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His love for his family was paralleled only by his passion for racing and NASCAR, a hobby that brought him immense excitement and happiness.
An avid marksman, Ron enjoyed going to the shooting range, where he found both challenge and relaxation. He was also known for his love of a good meal, especially when shared with loved ones. And he had to have his daily coffee, often times getting his favorite Starbucks order: cold brew with extra, EXTRA heavy cream. Conversations with Ron often turned to discussions about salvation through Jesus Christ, a subject that he approached with reverence and deep personal conviction.
Ron was predeceased by his father, Ronald Hugh Wall, Sr., his sister, Elizabeth Allyn Smith, and his brother-in-law, Richard Shaw. His legacy lives on through his children: Jonathan Wall, Brittany Wall (Tim Dillon), and Stephanie Wall-Ruff (Tyler), his loving mother, Rachel Smith; his devoted brother, Ralph Wall (Robbin); and his caring sisters, Rose King (Clyde Cash) and Ramona Putnam.
Ron's life was a beautiful illustration of what it means to be loving, faith-filled, and friendly. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
The family wishes to thank the Hopkins Fire Department, Wake County EMS, Rolesville EMS, and the Wake County Sheriff Department.
