Sergeant Richard "Dick" Henry Spinn, beloved father and friend, passed away
peacefully on August 17 th, 2023 in Texas City, Texas.
Dick was born on November 20, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Albert and
Beatrice Fischer Spinn. After graduating high school, Dick entered the United
States Air Force, where he served in both San Antonio and Hawaii. After leaving
the United States Air Force, Dick settled down in Santa Fe, Texas and began a
second career as an operator with Amoco. Dick worked for the plants for many
years, finally retiring in 2006.
Dick was an outdoorsman, avid fisherman, and hunter. He enjoyed spending time
at the deer lease with his sons. Dick also loved hanging out and swapping stories
with friends at cookoffs. You could always count on Dick to have a joke ready. He
was a friend to all, never met a stranger, and was quick to lend a hand to anyone
in need.
Dick is survived by his brother, Tommy Spinn; his son, Robert and his wife, Paige;
his son, Todd Spinn and his wife, Faye; his grandchildren, Brent, Dustin, Whitney,
Trevor, and Haley; and several great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by
his parents, Albert and Beatrice Spinn; and his daughter, Brandy Michelle Spinn.
Funeral services will be held at the Houston National Cemetery on Friday, October
27 th at 1:45.
