Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Maitland Joseph Stevens and Velma St. Romain Stevens, and his brother, Michael Joseph Stevens. He is survived by his wife Sharon Jewell Stevens, who he was the loving husband and best friend of for 61 years. He enjoyed golf, fishing, cooking, gardening, LSU and Saints football, a cold beer, and visits to the Treasure Chest Casino. Known for his humble spirit, warm heart, and kind compliments, Richard made everyone he met feel special. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate medical staff at East Jefferson General Hospital and Cancer Center including Drs. Caldwell & Ellis, and to Dr. Gremillion of East Jefferson ENT, for their exceptional care.
