Gerald Joseph "Jerry" Fromenthal

Gerald "Jerry" Fromenthal passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Gerald was the beloved husband of the late Muriel Tatford Fromenthal and the devoted son of the late Elvira Wagar. He was the eldest of seven children. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Fromenthal Bufkin (Gerald) and his brother Denny Fromenthal (Carol).

He is survived by his loving siblings Sandra Wagar Piglia (the late Joseph Jr.), Phillip Wagar (Georgie), Debra Wagar Leatherman (EB), and Floyd Wagar (Maribel), as well as numerous cherished brothers-in law, sisters-in law, nieces, and nephews.

Gerald was a graduate of Warren Easton High School and proudly served as a member of the National Guard. Throughout his career, he worked for Western Union, IBM, and Al Copeland Investments.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Colonial Oaks Living Center for their compassionate care and kindness over the past two years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation and services on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 11:00 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
