Richard Stokes Obituary
Richard Stokes, age 86, brother to Marguerite Stokes, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 11, 2025, at Oakridge Gardens after a brief illness.
He was born on April 10, 1939, to the late Oscar and Sadie Stokes and grew up in Kaukauna. After high school, he went to the Milwaukee School of Engineering for 4 years. After he graduated college, he was a medic in the United States Army for 6 months. After the Army, he joined NASA and worked on the Apollo Missile Guidance System.
Richard returned to Kaukauna after he retired to assist with the care of his mother and returned to his childhood home for 32 years. He loved to study and learn about all things. Also, through the years, he liked to snow ski and won many Blackjack tournaments.
Richard is survived by his sister, nephews Jim (Peggy) Bevers, Tom (Sharon Auden) Bevers, and niece Sue (William) Gloede.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister LaVonne (Leslie) Luckow, brother Ken (Annelies) Stokes, and brother-in-law Wesley Bevers.
A graveside service has been planned.
