Richard Eugene Stone, 78 of Marshfield, MO passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025. He was born on January 19, 1947, to Royal and Hazel Stone in Watseka, Illinois.
He was a man of God. He was dedicated to God, his family, and his country. After 23 years of Service, Richard retired from the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant in 1994. Richard loved gardening. Roses were his specialty.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Elaine, his sons Daniel Stone and wife Jackie, Rogersville, MO, Daniel Russell wife Sonya, Dallas, Texas; 1 daughter Pauletta Russell, Dallas, Texas; sons Mike Dean and wife Gail, Louisburg, MO; Charles Dean and husband Dustin, Marshfield, MO; two sisters Lottie and Husband Felix DeZengotita, Montgomery, Texas and Joyce Stone, Ashton, Illinois; one brother Chuck and wife Debbie, Springfield Florida; special granddaughter Amanda Randolph, Strafford, MO; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grand children; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his church families.
Richard is proceeded in death by his parents, son Richard Eugene Stone JR, son Tony Russell, son Jeff Dean, son James Dean, brother Don, sister Marsha and sister Hazel.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:00am at Fair Grove First Baptist Church, 220 S. Main St.; Fair Grove, MO 65648. The services will follow immediately at 11:00 am. The burial will be Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road; Springfield, MO 65804. The processions will begin at Greenlawn North at 10:00 a.m. to the cemetery.
