Mr. Richard Anderson Tapley, Jr., 51, of Waynesboro passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born August 31, 1973, in Augusta to Richard Tapley Sr. and Debra Faye Finch. Richard was preceded in death by his mother. He was a huge fan of Georgia Bulldogs football and collected memorabilia. Richard loved to go fishing and hunting. He was a heavy machinery operator and truck driver. Richard was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his father, Richard Tapley, Sr. of Swainsboro; sons, Shaun Tapley of Metter, Jesse Tapley and Issac Tapley, both of Jamesville, NC; daughter, MaKynna Tapley of Warner Robins; brothers, Michael Tapley (Dinesa) of Metter, Dwain Gray of Statesboro, Chris Tapley of Swainsboro; granddaughter, Everzyn Hernandez; nieces, Courtney Rea (Oswaldo), Hayley Taylor (Ashleigh); aunt, Brenda Finch Thomas (Bob); great-aunt, Betty White; several cousins and many friends.
Funeral Services will be in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home on Thursday, April 10, 2025,
at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bruce Allen officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Chapman Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Interment will be at Boiling Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Blake Carter, Ashleigh Taylor, Brett Carter, Michael Dykes, Oswaldo Rea and Jody Finch.
