1953 - 2023
Richard "Rick" Francis Tarsia, aged 70, passed away peacefully at home in Media, PA on December 28, 2023. Born on March 18, 1953, Rick was a lifelong Delaware County resident and graduated from Springfield High School, class of 1971. He later moved to Upper Providence where he opened a business and was a cherished member of the community.
Rick was a skilled automotive mechanic and the proud owner of Rose Tree Auto Service - Getty from 1993 until 2006. He was well-respected in his field and well known for his dedication to his craft and the care he provided to his long time customers.
Rick was preceded in death by his loving parents Francis R. "Frank" and Janet (Tansley) Tarsia.
Rick was a devoted father to Joseph "Adam" and his wife Roslyn M. (Luciani) Tarsia. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Antonella R., Joseph A. and Adelyn I. Tarsia and cherished brother of Louise E. (Jim) Walsh, Robert J.Tarsia and David (Chari) Tarsia. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will hold his memory dear.
A visitation and memorial service to celebrate Rick's life will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Ruffenach's Funeral Home, located at 4900 Township Line Rd, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Following will be a luncheon held at Anthony's Ristorante & Ballroom, 865 W Springfield Rd, Springfield, PA 19064. The family invites those who knew and loved Rick to join them in remembering this wonderful father and friend. Attendees are encouraged to bring their fondest memories to share. Dad jokes are welcome and expected!
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made in Rick's memory to The Sponsor-A-Student Program at the Let There Be Rock School in Folsom, PA. This program meant a great deal to Rick, especially seeing his grandchildren thrive under its mentorship. Contributions will support future musicians and continue the legacy of community impact that Rick valued so highly. Ruffenach Funeral Home in Drexel Hill, PA, is assisting the family during this time. Rick's life and legacy will be honored by all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed
