Richard Thacker

Richard Thacker, 77, husband of Etta Mae Thacker, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Veterans Medical Center in. Lexington, Kentucky. Born May 30, 1946 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was the son of the late Rufus and Faye Deel Thacker. Richard retired from University of Kentucky Research Department and was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church Versailles. He served in the United States Army where he received the Vietnam National Defense Service Medal, Purple Heart, and a Bronze Star.
Richard will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Etta Mae Dodson Thacker, Versailles, children, Michelle Adams (Kevin), Versailles, Jeremy Thacker (Patience), MeKee, grandchildren, Hannah Grace Adams, Gracelyn Thacker, Joshua Thacker, Elliana Thacker, Jeremiah Thacker, Josiah Thacker, and Anneliese Thacker
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until service time. Burial Services will be conducted on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Garland & Gracie Deel Memorial Cemetery in Virginia. Pallbearers will be Clear Creek Baptist Church Deacons, and Kevin Adams. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and leave messages of condolence here on Richard's tribute wall.
