Richard M. Torrey, 70, of North Grafton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at UMass Hospital.

 Richard was born on October 26, 1954 in Worcester, the son of the late Richard A. and Helena B. (Quinn) Torrey. He worked as a Project Manager/Estimator for ML McDonald Painting Company for many years before retiring. He later worked part time, as a driver for Knights Limousine.

 Richard’s wife, Paula J. (Nuzzetti) Torrey passed away on June 2, 2019. He is survived by his son, Keith R. Torrey and his wife Maria of Clinton; his daughter, Danielle Fisher and her husband David of Worcester; two sisters, Ann Torrey and her partner Debbie Carrier of Worcester and Sandra (Torrey) Credit and her husband Alan of Lunenburg; two grandchildren, Devin and Deyana Bonardi; his mother-in-law, Jean Nuzzetti of Worcester; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his father-in-law, Ralph “Duke” Nuzzetti.

 Richard enjoyed spending his free time with close friends and cheering on his beloved home sports teams. He had a great sense of humor, that he carried with him until his final days.

 Relatives are invited to a period of calling hours on Monday, January 13, 2025 from 4-6 pm immediately followed by his funeral service at 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial with his wife in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester will be held privately and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Richard to support cancer research and patient care at: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or via dana-farber.org/gift.
