Richard Stewart Tyde

Richard "Dick" Tyde, 91, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026. He was born in Pittsfield, Ma and grew up on the family farm in Stephentown, NY, where he learned the values of hard work, perseverance, and family that guided him throughout his life.

Dick dedicated more than 30 years to General Electric, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment. His career was a source of pride, providing well for his family and setting an example of responsibility and dedication.

He shared 68 loving years of marriage with his wife, Doris (Donald) Tyde. Together, they built a life centered on family, laughter, and togetherness. Dick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; his children, Richard (Doris), Michael (Ann), Vicky, and Bill (Paige); eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews; all of whom brought him immense joy and pride. He was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia, and his beloved daughter, Jennifer.

Dick loved traveling with family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. He was known for his great singing voice, his warmth, his wonderful sense of humor, and his habit of mangling words-something that never failed to bring smiles and laughter to those around him. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the laughter he shared.

Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church February 21, 2026 at noon. Internment to follow at Our Lady of Good Counsel cemetery.
