Richard C Ury

Richard C Ury (Dick), age 71 years, died January 23, 2024, in Des Moines, Iowa. Dick was the son of H. Richard Ury, Sr. and Shirley Price Ury, both of whom preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his stepmother, Marlys Moore Ury. He is survived by sisters Janet Anderson and spouse Eric Anderson of Minneapolis and Nancy Parsley of Westerville Ohio, as well as several nieces and nephews, many close friends and his beloved Macaw, Ralf. Dick graduated from Des Moines Tech High School and used his education in computer science to advance in the insurance industry, retiring as a Vice President of Finance for Nationwide Insurance.
Dick will be remembered for his generosity, especially to those who were struggling in life. He also was a passionate animal advocate, especially loving, and looking out for his housemate Ralf and other birds.
Informal gatherings of friends and family will celebrate his life. No formal services are planned. He will be buried in Chapel Hill cemetery Des Moines, Iowa.
