Richard A. Venditto, age 86, a longtime resident of Stoneham and formerly of Revere and Wakefield died July 18 in Stoneham.
He was born in Revere on June 18,1939 and was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Laurel) Venditto.
He was raised in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School. He was a well known developer in Revere and was the owner of Venditto & Sons Contractors with his brother Michael. He raised his family in Wakefield where he was active in youth sports including youth hockey and coaching baseball. He was an avid tennis player, and also served in the Massachusetts National Guard.
He was the beloved husband of Ellen A. (Palmitesta) Venditto. He was the loving father of Denise Daglio and her husband Stephen of Danvers, Richard A. Venditto and Shirley Lawler of Stoneham and the late Joseph Venditto. He was the brother of the late Michael Venditto, Florence Colanton and Delores Young. He was also the grandfather of Nathaniel and Elizabeth.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield on Friday July 25 at 10:00. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Saint Vincent DePaul Society, c/o St. Joseph Church 173 Albion Street Wakefield, MA 01880.
