He was born on October 5, 1931, to Emma and Willy Wilhelm. Richard graduated from Woodruff High School and went on to work at Caterpillar until his retirement. After retiring, he devoted his time to volunteer work at Springdale Cemetery and the Wheels O' Time Museum.
Richard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jenita Wilhelm; two daughters, Linda (Josef) Pleli of Erlanger, KY and Jeanie Wilhelm of Tremont, IL; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert L. Wilhelm.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private committal service will take place at Springdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Historic Springdale Cemetery, Wheels O' Time Museum or to the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home.
