Richard "Rick" Stefan Winiarczyk, 55, of North East, MD passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 following a yearlong battle with brain cancer.
Born in New Britain, CT on April 20, 1968, he was the son of the late Stefan Winiarczyk and Lawrie Sands.
Rick had a passion for nature and enjoyed being outdoors going on trail hikes, biking, rock climbing and fishing. He was always the first to offer help to anyone in need and made friends everywhere he went.
He is survived by his children: Drew Winiarczyk of North East, MD and Grant Winiarczyk of Rising Sun, MD; his mother: Lawrie Sands of North East, MD; siblings: Ben Winiarczyk (Diane) of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Teena Sakers (Joseph) of Middletown, DE.
Memorial gathering will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to your local State Park or simply go for a hike in the woods in Rick's memory.
